Good morning

Welcome back

Instructions

A visual, click-through guide for new users: how logging, accounts, and the month filter fit together. When something can’t be saved, you’ll get a dialog (OK or Escape); quick confirmations show beside Saved in the top bar.

  • View monthMost of the app follows the month you pick in the top bar.
  • Open any screenUse “Open …” below to jump straight into the real tab.
  • SectionsTap a header to expand only the topics you care about.
  • Guest demoNo Google yet Sample data loads in-browser; syncing, Download CSV on every screen, CSV import uploads, workbook/JSON backups, and sensitive Settings actions wait until sign-in. Open Settings below when you’re ready.
Settings & sidebar

Open Settings (sidebar, below the divider) for profile photo, display name, currency, month ledger cleanup (Delete month data per bucket), sidebar visibility, Excel download from the panel header, full wallet JSON backup, Restore from backup, and Delete profile (remove the Drive app-data file).

  • Sidebar tabs: Checkboxes show or hide Accounts, Expenses, Incomes, Transfers, Subscriptions, Categories, Notes & Trackers, and Monthly summary. At least one stays on. When signed in, choices save automatically to Drive. Hidden routes bounce to Dashboard if you had one open.
  • Always visible: Dashboard, Settings, Instructions, Terms of Use, Privacy policy, and Contact.
  • Guest demo: Without Google sign-in, profile photo picks, monthly purge buttons, per-page Download CSV, JSON backup/restore, Delete profile, and header Download all (Excel) stay disabled - you can still browse. Sign in when you’re ready for Drive-backed changes.

Dashboard & month view

View month drives most tables and charts. The Dashboard summarizes expenses, income, and net cash flow and surfaces hints (e.g. category over budget, income vs expected).

  • Account activity: one card per account with icon, month change chip, and a bar from opening → estimated month-end. Use Sort by to reorder.
  • Transfers, subscriptions, and recurring income use the same share bars as expense categories: each account’s slice of the month total, with amount and item count below.
  • Transfers this month: use Group by to chart volume sent from or received by each account.
  • Recurring expense by account: subscription and installment cost for the month, totaled per charged account (monthly equivalent), not one row per service.
  • Expense and income breakdowns can show budget / “expected” bars when you set those on Categories.

Monthly summary

Read-only archive (Premium tab when billing is on): one collapsible block per calendar month, using that month’s opening balances and ledger rows. Use Expand all / Collapse all in the panel header if you want every section at once.

  • Columns mirror the recap and the Dashboard account export: opening, income, expenses, transfers in/out, Month net, Subs equiv /mo, Recurring in equiv /mo.
  • Net after recurring & subs adds recurring income and subtracts subscription load from month net; End balance is opening plus ledger month net plus recurring income equiv (subscriptions are not subtracted).
  • Download CSV exports every month in one file (section per month). Requires Google sign-in; on hosted billing, Premium may also apply (see Plans).

Accounts

Accounts are real-world places money lives: checking, savings, credit card, etc.

  • Add each with an opening balance (or zero) so running balances stay meaningful.
  • Optional Type on the table maps to the Account type column in CSV export/import (purely for your organization).
  • Optional limit (e.g. credit line). Active is controlled in the add/edit form; inactive accounts stay listed here but leave pickers and the dashboard.
  • Expenses, incomes, and transfers always reference one or two accounts.
  • An on-page note can flag accounts whose month change is negative for the selected month.
Try it
Categories & income sources

Set up expense categories and income sources before you log heavily; they power pickers, dashboards, and imports.

  • Optional monthly budget on a category feeds dashboard / bar views.
  • Optional expected monthly on an income source compares plan vs actual.
  • CSV export/import includes an optional Icon column (emoji) on both expense categories and income sources.
Try it
Expenses

Money leaving an account: amount, date, category, account paid from, optional title and note. Rows land in the month of their date.

  • Group by above the table: flat list, by Account, or by Category (saved on this device).
Try it
Incomes

Money arriving: amount, date, receiving account, source, and an optional title and note. For salary, refunds, interest, and similar inflows.

  • Group by: flat list, by Account, or by Income source (same preference pattern as expenses).
Try it
Transfers

Move money between two accounts (e.g. checking → savings) without counting as expense or income. Pick two different accounts and an amount for the month you care about.

Try it
Subscriptions

Recurring charges: service name, billing frequency, amount per period, charged account (required), status, and either dates or installment counts. Separate from one-off expenses, but feed dashboard “recurring expense.”

  • Ongoing (no fixed end): when checked, end date and installments-remaining stay off; use for rent-style bills without an end. Otherwise use start/end dates or installments + start.
  • Group by on the table toolbar: None (flat), Account (charged account), or Billing. Your choice is remembered on this device.
  • Status chips: Active, Paused, Completed. Active and paused stay in the main table; completed sits in a collapsible section below.
  • Validation lists every problem in one dialog if several fields disagree.
  • Download CSV (view month in the top bar) includes As of month, installment counts, Paid amount, Left to pay, and stored Status. Re-import recognizes those columns (amounts can back-fill installment counts when counts are blank).
Try it
Recurring Income

Scheduled deposits (salary, rent received, retainers): plan name, billing frequency, amount per period, deposit account (required), optional income source, status, and either dates or installment counts. Separate from one-off income ledger rows - log actual deposits on the Incomes tab; this tab is forecast and schedule only.

  • Ongoing (no fixed end) works like Subscriptions for open-ended plans.
  • Group by: None, Account, Billing, or Income source. Cards or table layout - both remembered on this device.
  • Dashboard shows Expected Recurring Income by Account; Monthly summary adds Recurring in equiv /mo and updates Net after recurring & subs.
  • Download CSV and import via filenames containing recurring and income.
Try it
Notes & Trackers

Notes, checklists, rich notes, and spreadsheet-style tracker tables outside the core ledger (solar totals, FD trackers, payoff plans, project notes). Data lives in your wallet file.

Import tracker CSVs via Settings → Import CSV (sign in with Google): filenames with tracker, note, or notes. Header row + data; up to 20 columns. Each file adds one table card.

  • Use Topics to group cards. Open the Topics dashboard to assign cards and filter the grid.
  • Add note creates a rich card; Add table builds a grid you can paste into from Excel or Sheets in edit mode.
  • Use Manage visibility or the hide icon so items disappear from this tab without losing data - they remain in your wallet and in Notes & Trackers → Download CSV.
  • Edit unlocks fields; paste from Excel or Sheets into table cells in edit mode.
  • Drag ⠿ to reorder; collapse headers; Delete confirms.

Hide the nav item under Settings → Sidebar tabs if you don’t need it.

Import & backup

Import CSV is a card on the Settings page. After you sign in with Google, choose files and Upload & save: merges into this device’s wallet, summarizes each file, and saves to Drive together. Guests can read the checklist and filenames in Settings, but the file picker and upload controls stay disabled until sign-in.

Ledger CSVs match this app’s export columns. Tracker CSVs use the filename rules in the Import CSV card. You can batch both together.

Download all (Excel) mirrors that bundle (Dashboard, Settings, and Import headers). It requires Google sign-in; on hosted builds with billing enabled, Premium rules may also apply (see Plans). In guest demo, every Download CSV and workbook control stays disabled until you sign in.

Use Save to Drive / Sync from Drive once authenticated so edits follow you across devices.

Grant Google Drive access

Sign out and sign in again to grant Drive app-data permission, or the app cannot save to your Google Drive.

TheWalletly needs this permission to save and update your wallet in Google Drive (private app-data storage, scope drive.appdata).

  • See, create, and delete its own configuration data in your Google Drive.

Without this permission we cannot save or sync your data to Google Drive. Changes may exist only in this browser until you grant it.

What to do: tap Sign out, then sign in with Google again. When Google shows the permissions list, enable that Drive line (don’t leave it unchecked), then finish sign-in so saving and syncing works.

Stay signed in?

Your Google sign-in has lapsed, which is normal after a while. Keeping it going takes one more trip through Google. Nothing is lost either way — your edits stay on this device until they save.
